In addition to our daily curriculum, there are additional activities that take place at Gan-Gani throughout the year. Examples include:
1. Holiday activities:
We celebrate all the traditional Jewish holidays using stories, arts and crafts, dancing, singing and more. In addition, some of the holidays we celebrate together with the expanded families, such as:
Sukkoth – building the Sukka and decorating it, together with the kids.
Hanukah – An evening of activities to make the Hanukia, parents and children together. Then, we have a holiday dinner and light the Hanukiot that the children have made.
2. Birthdays:
We celebrate the child’s birthday in the day care together with the family, parents, siblings and grandparents - are all invited
3. Kabalat Shabbat: every Friday we make and bake challah together, we light the Shabbat candles and we sing Shabbat songs.
4. Hygiene activities: tooth hygiene, general hygiene and more.
5. Potty Training: Help and support in potty training, is given.
6. Learning about citrus fruits: similar to the activities about citrus fruits in day cares in Israel.
Nutrition:
The children are provided with 3 Kosher home made meals per day, that I cook for them. The food is healthy, nutritious and fresh. Typical food would include the following:
Breakfast: an egg, cheese, vegetables salad/cereal and milk/ cheese sandwich with fresh vegetable, and for drinking - milk enriched in vitamin D.
Lunch: meat / fish, cooked vegetable in addition to rice / pasta / potato.
Afternoon snack: fruit / sandwich /cookies.
