Educational Perspective of Ms. Ester Bar

Ester and YoavI wanted to implement my education approach, which was formed during my 30 years of experience working with children during their early years. In Israel, I’ve worked in the Kibbutz and Moshav, educating and caring for children age from birth to age 5. Here in the U.S., I decided to open my own school. Gan-Gani is a place providing a connection for young children with the Israeli culture and the Hebrew language.

From my extensive experience working with young children, I believe I should give each child his or her own space for self-expression and for doing things independently. I enjoy listening to and understanding each child and helping them to work cooperatively with each other. Every child has their own space for self-expression and learning through talking, drawing, singing, playing, dancing, and more, while surrounded by warmth, humor and love.

In addition, it is also very important to teach the children about good health and provide them with good nutrition at every single meal, especially in the younger ages. The day care is the first place outside of their home where they need to cope with entirely new things, and it’s important to me that from the first day they will feel comfortable and experience enjoyment in belonging to the group of children. They will feel secure, knowing that I’m taking care of their needs, while their parents are not present. A child will be ready for his or her next developmental stage only after completing the previous developmental change. We encourage a child to be a child and let them play as much as they want. Everything has its own time and pace, and every new development requires a previous development.
